The BA is delighted to bring UK members a new merchant rate service, from Dojo, part of PaymentSense.

Especially given recent rises in the costs of doing business, we are keen to bring you as many ways as possible of saving money, and we are aware that merchant rates are a significant cost, with debit and credit card payments much more common than they were pre-pandemic. 

Individual booksellers will have very competitive bespoke card rates, based on turnover, and negotiated by the BA’s account manager at Dojo. Features and benefits include:

- No sign-up fee
- Contracts can be as short as one month
- 4G mobile connectivity comes as standard (no need for wifi)
- Next-day transfers of payment, seven days a week, and at no extra cost
- Transactions can be tracked via the Dojo app
- Free one-month trial
- For members switching from another provider, Dojo could contribute up to £3,000 towards exit costs
- After the first three months, the terminal rental rate is £15/month
- PCI fees are included in this monthly rate; no PCI charges will be added at any time
- Additional terminals can be rented on an ad hoc basis for festivals or other external events
- All terminals are PCI-compliant: they are P2P encrypted, giving the highest possible level of security
- Information can be transmitted and stored electronically, so no need for printed receipts unless you'd like them
- Debit/credit card rates are bespoke for each participating member, with Dojo providing a tailored quote
- Free BatchLine integration: Dojo card readers can be linked to a BatchLine account for seamless transactions
